Memorandum 2006
ACR+ is claiming for another European policy on waste management
through the publication of a memorandum reacting to some aspects of
the Thematic strategy for the prevention and the recycling of waste
and of the proposal for a new Waste Framework Directive, recently
published by the European Commission.
ACR+ is calling for:
- a specific European support for Local and Regional Authorities
which are promoting prevention, via a proposal of Annex IV
bis,
- a clarification of the definition of reuse, as well as
juridical provisions promoting it
- the support of the recycling sector thanks to juridical and
economic tools, as well as a framework for the management of
biodegradable waste,
- the inclusion within the waste framework directive of the
fundamental principles of producers’ responsibility,
- and the restriction of the « European comitology
procedure » to technical questions.
