  • ACR+ and Brussels Environment (IBGE) held a Technical Workshop that reviewed  thematic strategies on the Prevention and Recycling of Waste and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources which are under review this year by the European Commission and have now posted their conclusions.

PUBLICATION - Quantitative Benchmarks for Waste Prevention
  • A guide for Local and Regional Authorities in support of the new Waste Framework Directive
    One of the big challenges with waste prevention involves trying to set quantitative targets and to quantify the results of waste prevention efforts. In November 2009, to help fill these gaps, ACR+ published a guide on quantitative benchmarks for waste prevention.

PUBLICATION - Municipal Waste in Europe: Towards a European Recycling Society
  • In September 2009, ACR+ published an analysis of European waste prevention and recycling issues. The study includes, in particular, data on the various waste management models in the 27 European capitals.
    The book, published by Victoires Editions with the support of ACR+ Member SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT/SITA, brings together Europe’s waste management policies and outlines the challenges which public authorities need to address.
