INTHERWASTE EU FLAG

The INTHERWASTE project Interregional Environmental Integration of Waste Management in European Heritage Cities –, aims to foster the exchange of experience and polices for efficient and sustainable waste management in European Heritage Cities.

Project funded under the European Regional Development Fund.

Highlights

The INTHERWASTE project has ended its first phase, which saw the publication of the Newsletter and the Brochure. This Brochure presents the project partners’ local action plans as well as some of the best practices they have exchanged in the past three years.

Examples of these practices are the promotion of separation in the organic fraction, and painted waste containers in Córdoba, packaging deposit refund system in Estonia, as well as reusable deposit system cups at public events in Tallinn.

The practices were selected due to their proven success in the regions where they were implemented and their potential of replicability in other regions. The project’s “good practices” section is linked to the INTERREG Policy Learning Platform, which feeds a wider pool of knowledge accessible to public authorities.
