Between 10 and 13 October 2016 the 14th European Week of Regions and Cities organised by the Committee of the Regions will take place in Brussels, under the headline “Regions and cities for sustainable and inclusive growth”. It focuses on the challenges currently facing Europe's regions and cities, building on the implementation cycle of EU cohesion policy programmes.

ACR+ will take an active part in this 14th edition by participating as a speaker and moderating several sessions. You will have the possibility to hear ACR+ presenting its activities and points of view at the following sessions:

  • Building European value-chains based on regional specialisations for circular economy, the role of research and innovation policy (12 October, 09:00 – 10:45, room 12A57)
  • Role of regions and cities in transition to circular economy (12 October, 11:15 – 13:00, room 12A67)
  • EU LIFE programme: A chance for green business, innovation and job creation preserving the environment (12 October, 14:30 – 17:00, room INV12A93)
  • International cooperation for improving the capacity to deal with waste management in the Mediterranean (13 October, 11:15 – 13:00, room 13A129)

During this annual four-day event, cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance. Some 100 sessions, seminars and meetings will take place on different thematic strands: Sustained and sustainable economic growth; Inclusive economic growth; Making ESI Funds simpler.

Participation in the European Week of Regions and Cities is free of charge. Registration for Brussels-based seminars is open until 30 September.
