On 30 April 2016, the second edition of Keep Clean and Run: 350 km to save the environment kicked off. This was the central event of the European Clean Up Day 2016 in Italy, a European campaign against littering, held across Europe on 6-8 May 2016.

The eco-trail of 350 km began from San Benedetto del Tronto (AP) and finished in Rome, on 6 May 2016. The race, divided in 7 stages, was organised by ACR+ member AICA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Land and Sea. In each municipality hosting the race, local population was invited to join clean-up activities as well as debates and conferences. Famous personalities from the world of sport, environment or radio-television also joined the race.

The initiative aims to raise awareness on the phenomenon of littering, focusing on the origin of such waste. The decision to focus the sporting event in the mountainous and marine eco-systems, in fact, comes from the awareness that over 70% of marine pollution originates inland. In addition to the cleaning action, the virtuous management chains and waste treatment will be also highlighted.

A video has been created presenting the race and is available online.
