From 12 to 21 June, ACR+ welcomed 4 Algerian delegates representing public administration from the city of Mascara, in the framework of a training on integrated household waste management. Commissioned by the Belgian Development Agency, the training gave a thorough overview of all theoretical aspects, followed by numerous study visits to sorting, recycling, composting, reuse and other facilities, located in different parts of Belgium.

The intensive training programme emphasized all waste management practices as according to the waste hierarchy. It allowed participants to take advantage of the Belgian experience, and gain useful knowledge which might help improve waste management in the city of Mascara Wilaya, Algeria.

Another similar training is planned between September and October 2013.
