In a little bit more than 2 weeks, the EU Green Week 2018 will kick-off in Brussels. ACR+ will participate through 3 events in this new edition, focusing on “Green Cities for a Greener Future”.

First, the European Week for Waste Reduction 2017 Awards Ceremony, celebrating the most outstanding action on waste reduction organised in 2017, will take place on 22 May 2018 from 11:00 to 12:30, hosted by the European Committee of the Regions. It will be opened by Karmenu Vella, the European Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. Join us to find out which actions from 15 finalists will win this year. Discover the full agenda and register online before 11 May 2018.

Also on 22 May 2018, from 13:30 to 16:00, ACR+ and its member CITEO, together with MWE, are organising a conference on Smarter, Greener Cities: from Waste to Resources”.  This conference includes two roundtables. One, focusing on big cities, will discuss and share best practices to increase selective collection performances (pay-as-you-throw; bring banks; out-of-home collection). ACR+ members Maastricht and Paris in particular will be presenting examples. During the second roundtable, start-ups will expose and discuss with the municipalities their innovative solutions to optimise waste collection in urban areas. Last but not least, ACR+ has been awarded a stand throughout the Green Week in Brussels. There we will showcase our activities and projects as well as put under the spotlight some specific activities with short side-presentations. Part of the stand will be dedicated to the ACR+ members. It will be our pleasure to see you at the stand or at one of the events, so come and say hi if you are around!
