From 6 to 9 November 2018, Ecomondo was organised in Rimini (Italy) to bring together all sectors of the circular economy in a single platform: from material and energy recovery to sustainable development. ACR+ joined this international event to present several of its projects and activities.

To start with, on 6 November 2018, ACR+ teamed up with another partner of the URBANREC project, Fraunhofer ICT, to set up an interactive booth related to the project at the EASME stand. A little homemade wooden wardrobe and some foam samples produced by recycled material from bulky waste were used to attract people and explain the main project activities. Then, ACR+ participated in the session “Empowering territories for a Sustainable Mediterranean” organised by Interreg MED Communities. ACR+ was one of the six speakers of the panel “Circular economy opportunities and challenges in the MED area” and presented the BLUISLANDS Project. Topics such as marine litter, resilience and climate change in the MED area were discussed by the panel.

On 8 November 2018, ACR+ was back at the EASME stand to present the URBAN-WASTE project. As the stand was shared with the URBANWINS project, the links between the two projects (urban metabolism approach) were often highlighted. The WasteApp developed by URBAN-WASTE and the opportunities to integrate tourism in sustainability patterns were also in the focus.
