The city of Florence, Italy, hosted the kick-off meeting of the Interreg Europe SMART WASTE project. On 5 September, ACR+ member the Tuscany Region, lead partner of the project, welcomed representatives from the other five project partners. Together, they discussed innovation in waste management, one of the project’s key themes and citizens and stakeholders’ engagement. On the initiative of ACR+, cooperation with other projects was not forgotten as the WINPOL and LIFE TACKLE projects were invited to showcase their first outcomes.
 
This first meeting was the occasion for the project partners to share their approaches and experiences when it comes to linking innovation and waste management, in particular reducing, reusing, recycling, and recovering waste.
