ACR+ member Paris has launched the new Climate Plan, which is a concrete implementation of the commitments made by France during COP 21 and a guide for Paris to become carbon neutral. The plan outlines 500 measures in several areas such as construction, transport, energy, nutrition, waste, lifestyle, finance, etc.

Since 2004, the City of Paris has been engaged in the fight against climate change. It resulted in the adoption of the Climate Plan in 2007. With the aim to strengthen its commitments, the City of Paris has developed a new edition of the plan. The process involved a consultation with the Paris community and other cities.

Among other actions, Paris has ambitious aims in waste management sector:

  • Recycle and valorise 100 % of waste and generalise the collection of food waste by 2020;
  • Install 1,000 Trilib stations by 2020;
  • Test the operation of micro anaerobic digestion plant in densely populated urban areas by 2020,
