A new tool for the construction industry, developed by the University of ACR+ member Aalborg among others, makes it easier to test different solutions in the early part of the design phase for residential construction. LCAlive, especially developed with a view to building with the lowest possible climate impact, aims to boost the perception of Life-cycle assessment (LCA) calculations. Floor coverings, foundations and roof construction are just some of the components that have a major impact on the overall climate impact of a building. With the new tool, LCAlive, it is easier for actors in the building industry to test alternative solutions in the earlier design phase.

The tool is expected to be used in all construction value chains. Therefore, the team behind LCAlive has kept usability and automation in mind throughout the development process. The tool will be available in September.
