With the support of ACR+ member LIPOR, the municipality of Espinho has initiated a new phase of door-to-door selective collection, providing organic waste containers to approximately 2 300 residences. This initiative encourages citizens to give new life to food waste and adopt environmentally friendly practices. The awareness campaign, running until the end of the year, also extends to the non-residential sector covered by this door-to-door selective collection zone. Organic waste finds its designated place in dedicated bins, marking the first step in creating organic agricultural amendments that will nourish the soil. From this process, new food products emerge, completing the cycle. It emphasises the mutual effort required for reciprocity and encourages participants to share and spread the idea.
