The Catalan Minister of Climate Action, Food, and Rural Agenda, accompanied by the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC), has presented the draft law on waste prevention and efficient use of resources in Catalonia to social, environmental, business and local communities. The document, expected to undergo the public consultation process in the coming weeks, enjoys significant consensus from the waste management sector and other key industrial sectors crucial for waste reduction, such as the agri-food industry, construction, or textiles.

During the presentation, various key aspects of the draft law were highlighted, such as the incorporation of preventive measures, the promotion of the circular economy, and extended producer responsibility. Additionally, emphasis was placed on the importance of collaboration among different sectors of society, including local governments, businesses, and citizens, to ensure the success of this initiative.
