Three new factsheets were published in the Circular Europe Network’s database, overviewing good practices implemented in West Sweden, the Basque Country and the Autonomous Region of Sardinia.

In the region of West Sweden, the Re:Textile initiative has since 2016 been exploring new design possibilities and business models in order to improve the active lifetime of textiles aiming to reach a lower raw material impact and to establish a design for circularity model in which circular flows are incorporated in the design thinking.

In Spain, the social cooperative Koopera collects, prepares for reuse, and sells different kinds of goods collected all over the country, employing socially marginalised people. In 2012, an innovative reusing and recycling centre for the automatic treatment of waste was created in the province of Biscay thanks to the support of both the Provincial Government and the Basque Government.

The case of Sardinia explores the implementation of the regional plan for Green Public Procurement. The value for green purchases realised by the Region for its administrations according to the minimal environmental criteria set by the plan arrived at a 90%, while including sectors still not covered by minimal environmental criteria, the region reached a 60% in 2013 and 67% in 2014.
