The third edition of “Organicopa”, the organic waste collection competition driven by ACR+ member Government of Navarra, has led to a 9.3% increase in organic waste collection in 92 municipalities in Navarra in 2023. In addition to the increase in organic waste collection, there has been a 5% reduction in the residual waste fraction and a 6.6% increase in packaging collection. The municipalities that have recovered the most and the best organic waste in each of the participating areas have been awarded. An educational program has been implemented in schools, both in-person and online, offering 25 different activities tailored to various themes and age groups. The educational content focuses on waste prevention, recycling, circular economy, reuse, organic waste composting, and responsible consumption.
