Life + Green Commerce Project

Commitment to minimise the environmental impact of small retail business

Green Commerce is a European project co-funded by the Life+ programme of the European Commission.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To involve small businesses in the fight against climate change
  • To promote environmental responsibility in the retail sector
  • To reduce energy use and waste by simple techniques
  • To stimulate innovation in environment issues with good rpactices and to mobilise to
    become more environmentally friendly, teaching them about the greenest shopping practices.
     

In order to achieve these goals, the project will:

  • Create a “Green Commerce” European label
  • Provide retail businesses the means to develop environmental GC self-assessment tool
  • Perform environmental audits in 100 shops (50 in Torrevieja, 50 in San Sebastian)
  • Provide training sessions and mobilisation workshops
  • Disseminate project results and knowledge in order to diffuse this methodology

EVENTS:

  • ACR+ will support the participation of the project to the Green Week, edition 2012 and 2013
  • ACR+ will support the organisation of 2 International events by the Valencia Region.
