Due to security measures in connection with the alert level in Brussels Capital Region, the European Committee of the Regions cancelled the conference that ACR+ (in cooperation with Zero Waste Europe and Zero Waste France) was organizing on 24 November 2015 in the CoR premises. However, ACR+ is pleased to announce that the conference “The Potential of the Waste Sector to a Low Carbon Economy” is rescheduled on 12 January 2016.
Building on the recent publication of the report “The Potential Contribution of Waste Management to a Low Carbon Economy”, the conference will address a wide range of questions linked with the transformation of the EU into a low carbon economy, and more specifically the promotion of low-carbon solutions to material resources issues.
After examples from Porto and Brussels, two European regional and local authorities engaged towards a low carbon economy, a panel debate will focus on the raw materials issue in link with the potential of GHG emissions saving.
This event is supported by Michel Lebrun (Committee of the Regions).
