ACR+ is pleased to welcome Residuos do Nordeste as a new member.

Residuos do Nordeste was founded in 2001 by the Municipal Associations of Terra Quente Transmontana, Terra Fria do Nordeste Transmontano and Douro Superior, assuming the responsibility to manage the waste produced in:  Alfândega da Fé, Bragança, Carrazeda de Ansiães, Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Macedo de Cavaleiros, Miranda do Douro, Mirandela, Mogadouro, Torre de Moncorvo, Vila Flor, Vila Nova de Foz Côa, Vimioso and Vinhais.

The previous thirteen municipalities mean a geographical area of 6996 Km2; 143777 inhabitants and an urban waste production of 50.000 tons/year. Resíduos do Nordeste activity includes: selective collection, undifferentiated collection, waste mechanical treatment, technical confinement in landfill, energy recovery from urban waste; urban sanitation, awareness and communication campaigns.

The activity of the company is based on the following infrastructures: 1 Landfill, 1 Central Energy Recovery Plant of Biogas , 1 Leaching Water Treatment Station Landfill, 1 Mechanical and Biological Treatment Plant With Anaerobic Digestion; 4 Transfer Stations (Bragança, Torre de Moncorvo, Vimioso and Vinhais); 1 multi-material Park; 14 drop-off sites; 616 eco-containers. Furthermore, in 2008 the company implemented the Integrated Quality Management, Environment and Safety, Health and Hygiene at Work System. Since then it is certified according to standards NP EN ISO 9001:2008, NP EN ISO 14001:2004 e OHSAS 18001:2007.
