Let’s Clean Up Europe is back! Between 6 and 8 May 2016, volunteers from all over Europe and beyond will get together to tackle the common challenge of cleaning up Europe from waste littered in their neighborhood, natural areas, cities and beaches.

The initiative has been developed within the scope of the LIFE+ project “European Week for Waste Reduction” (EWWR – involving ACR+, ACR+ members AICA, ARC, IBGE-BIM as well as NWMD). Together they launched the “Let’s Clean Up Europe” campaign. The main aim of the campaign, which is coordinated within the EWWR by AICA, is to fight against littering and raise awareness on this issue. Its main action is the organization of Let’s Clean Up Europe, which synchronizes clean-ups initiatives and will be held throughout Europe between 6 and 8 May 2016.

The campaign is based on a call to action: an open invitation to anyone interested in organizing waste collection activities and the cleaning of defined territorial areas. Local institutions, voluntary associations, schools, groups of citizens, private companies and any other kind of institutions can participate. As of now, participating countries include: Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom (Northern Ireland and Scotland), Andorra and Norway. If you want to participate in this campaign, register you action and get the communication material, please refer to the coordinator of your area.
