North London Waste Authority | Waste Prevention Exchange explores ways for local authorities to embrace circularity

In its latest conference, ACR+ member the North London Waste Authority's Waste Prevention Exchange explored ways that local authorities and SMEs can embrace waste prevention and circularity. The event gathered the representatives of the London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB), Eunomia Research & Consulting Ltd, the Office of Mayor of Paris, the North London Waste Authority, Ellen MacArthur Foundation and ACR+.

Growth in cities like London over the next two or three decades will bring with it waste management challenges. Speaking at the Exchange Wayne Hubbard, Chief Operating Officer of LWARB explained London recognises the benefits for cities of accelerating a circular economy, and that’s why LWARB is trying to seize the oppo rtunity. He also emphasized that cities have a significant role to create the right conditions for circular economy businesses to flourish.

ACR+ also participated at the event and emphasized that the association will continue to facilitate exchanges of good practices, the sharing of technical knowledge and capacity building activities, including for the benefits of the UK-based members.
