A booklet introducing the industrial potential of hydrothermal carbonization and main findings of the NEWAPP Project is now available online!

The different chapters investigate and explain all aspects of HTC object of the project, in order to demonstrate how the HTC can represent a disruptive technology for the organic waste treatment industry in Europe. An outlook chapter concludes the booklet, assessing the future of the technology, the next steps and technological barriers to overcome.

The project: “New technological applications for wet biomass waste stream products,” or NEWAPP which started in November 2013 came to an end in April 2016. It focused on the application of hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) processes to convert wet biomass wastes into high quality carbonaceous product.
