On 7 March 2018, ACR+ member North London Waste Authority (NLWA) will run its fourth North London Waste Prevention Exchange event in London. As with previous years, the conference will consist of a morning session with presentations and an afternoon workshop. The focus will be food waste prevention and will examine the different approaches and how to secure long term behaviour change.

The conference will include a UK perspective on approaches towards food waste behaviour change from Resource London, and a European perspective from ACR+ member Brussels Environment and Wageningen University. There will be representatives from a range of sectors, including academics, retailers and the third sector. With a focus on consumer engagement, representatives from Sainsbury’s will discuss the role of supermarkets in reducing household food waste whilst representatives from Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund will make links between food waste prevention and surplus food redistribution in the UK.

The afternoon workshop, open to all delegates, will aim to put learning from the morning session into practice by exploring priorities when devising a waste prevention programme.
