Comparison of municipal waste management in EU cities

This report is part of the ACR+ Waste Observatory and is a follow up of a 2014 report presenting an EU-capitals benchmarking. It compares municipal waste management in cities and metropolitan areas. Data were collected in 17 cities across Europe, including ACR+ members Liège, Odense, Barcelona, Pamplona, Rennes, Maastricht and Porto. To allow consistent comparisons, the collected data are presented in factsheets, one per each city.

Roles of local and regional authorities towards the prosperity of local SMEs

This publication aims to complete the General guidelines for circular economy planning for local and regional authorities by providing concrete examples of good practices to set actions specifically for local SMEs.

Members of ACR+ have contributed to the study by providing information on their actions related to Circular Economy that have been implemented in their city or region. Indeed, governments must create across-the-board connections between stakeholders at all levels, whether they are private companies, public authorities, scientists, academia or consumers. Cross-analysis of "Pay-As-You-Throw" schemes in selected EU municipalities

This report looks at the application of PAYT in the European Union (EU) through several case studies: seven municipalities from seven different countries are examined and compared for their strategies with regard to PAYT. This report aims to clarify the potential benefits and challenges when introducing PAYT. The study focuses on household waste.

The Potential Contribution of Waste Management to a Low Carbon Economy

A report into the potential that waste management poses for the transition to a low carbon economy. This report commissioned by Zero Waste Europe, in partnership with Zero Waste France and ACR+  and conducted by Eunomia, highlights key problems with the current UNFCCC waste inventories, as well as providing recommendations for their improvement.

Management options for 6 composting strategies
