To support the necessary societal change in waste recycling, ACR+ member SUEZ  implements new solutions to accelerate the collection and recovery of plastics. The company develops and diversifies the RECO deposit-return system.

Currently, SUEZ processes more than 400,000 tons of plastics annually and produces 150,000 tons of recycled polymers. However, the Group aims to increase its processing capacity by 50%, by 2020 and reach more than 600,000 tons of plastic processed.

The deposit is collected through the system of RECO® kiosks, which is developed in partnership with retailers, industry as well as ACR+ member CITEO. Currently there are 100 kiosks in France.  For each returned bottle (water, milk, laundry, shampoo, etc.) a consumer received a voucher worth 1 to 2 euro cents that can be used in participating shops. In addition to RECO® kiosks, SUEZ developed RecyclingBox that are adapted to small spaces as well as RecyclingVan that offers a mobile solution for the collection of deposit.
