The Life+ COR project (Waste Objective Campaign) of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area is a project cofounded by the European Commission through the Life+ programme. The project will end in December 2012.

The objectives of the LIFE+ COR project are the reduction of the waste generated by introducing prevention and reuse action, the achievement of a maximum of material use of the resources contained in waste by enhancing the systems of selective collection as well as the recovery of the remaining fraction (both material and energy recovery). These objectives were intended to be reached by improving the dissemination of information on these issues amongst young citizens of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area, and by furthermore encouraging citizens to modify their waste management and consumption habits.

On 17 and 18 December 2012, the LIFE+ COR Final European Seminar about Waste and Communication will take place in Barcelona. The seminar will provide participants with the opportunity to exchange information and experiences about communication and waste management with communications professionals from all over Europe. The main objective of the seminar is to discuss these issues in a working group on environmental communication, as well as share the project’s results with other European experts.
