ACR+ member Paris launched a "Streets without cigarette butts" initiative with a collective pickup action in different streets of Paris. This initiative aims at raising awareness about this pollution and will be accompanied by awareness raising actions on the impact of cigarette butts on the environment, the installation of new bins and incentive devices to deter throwing cigarette butts in the public space, and tobacco prevention actions.
Each borough council, in partnership with the associations of the neighbourhoods concerned, will deploy throughout the year a set of devices to eradicate the throwing of butts on the ground.
