EUROPEAN WEEK FOR WASTE REDUCTION (EWWR)

LIFE+ project, 2009-2011

The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) aims to promote sustainable waste reduction actions, to help contribute to waste reduction.

 

MINIWASTE

LIFE+ project, 2010-2012

Miniwaste aims at demonstrating that it is possible to significantly reduce the amount of bio-waste at local level.

 

PRE-WASTE

INTERREG IV C project, 2010-2012

Pre-waste is a three-year European project (2010-2012) whose aim is to help cities and regions to improve their waste prevention policies.

This project aims at promoting environmental responsibility in the retail sector.  

 

 

RECYCLING PROJECTS

 

THE EUROPEAN OBSERVATORY FOR MUNICIPAL WASTE RECYCLING PERFORMANCES

ACR+ Project

The Observatory will initially focus on the analysis of recycling performances across Europe and achieve higher recycling rates, improve communication with citizens and reduce the negative environmental and financial impacts.

REGIONS FOR RECYCLING (R4R) 

Interreg IV C Project

R4R aims at promoting regional contributions to the European Recycling Society, aiming to prevent waste generation and optimising the use of waste as resources, in order to move towards a European Recycling Society.

 

ECONOMIC INSTRUMENTS PROJECTS

 

EXTENDED PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY (EPR) CLUB

ACR+ Project

Inspired by the increasing need to create a platform for exchange and dissemination of good EPR practices amongst key stakeholders and experts, this project works towards proposing "Common principles for EPR in Europe".

 

NORTH-SOUTH CO-OPERATION PROJECTS

 

GESTION OPTIMISÉE DES DÉCHETS EN MÉDITERRANÉE (GODEM)

CIUDAD (EuropAid) project 

This project is aimed primarily at creating a permanent knowledge base and network for exchanging experiences regarding sustainable and optimized waste management between local and regional authorities in the Mediterranean basin.

 

ACR+MED 

ACR+ Project

The extension of the GODEM project, ACR+MED is a network for Local and Regional Authorities (LRAs) and non LRAs in the Union of the Mediterranean. This will enable MED countries to achieve excellence in the field of Integrated Sustainable Resource and Waste Management (ISRWM) services. 

 

HORIZON 2020 INITIATIVE

Project co-funded by the European Commission

The "Horizon 2020 Initiative" aims to de-pollute the Mediterranean by the year 2020 by tackling the sources of pollution that account for around 80% of the overall pollution of the Mediterranean Sea.
