Report: Managing Biodegradable Household Waste

Managing Biodegradable Household Waste : What prospects for European Local Authorities ?

This ACR+ report seeks to express some of the questions that European local and regional authorities (LRAs) ask (or should ask) in relation to the management of biodegradable household waste, such as : Why worry about the management of the biodegradable fraction of household waste ? What are the principal collection and treatment options ? Why encourage decentralised composting ? What are the costs ? …

The document provides food for thought while highlighting the positive attitudes and imagination of European LRAs and aims to strengthen the skills of local and regional actors, while increasing their reflection on the issues.

In the spirit of dematerialisation and in the interest of wider dissemination, we have chosen to publish this report in electronic version onluy and in four languages: English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. These versions are downloadable for ACR+ members on this page.
