The INTHERWASTE project consortium looked back at the project’s implementation phase during an online meeting. With minor disturbances caused by the virus outbreak, the cities of Porto, Cordoba, Tallinn, Krakow and Ibiza shared their developments in terms of implementing innovative and improved waste management practices in heritage areas, as well as necessary policy changes that accompany them. The cities highlighted in particular the opening of reuse and repair centres as an effective way to improve bulky waste management and enhance their transition towards circular economy at the same time. ACR+ enriched the meeting with a special session on waste management practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A key decision taken by partners during the meeting was to postpone the project’s final conference (originally planned in June in Cordoba) and the presentation of the five pilot cities’ achievements to 2021.
