The 2nd BIOTRANSFORM Consortium meeting was held in Kastoria (Greece), hosted by the project partner CluBE (Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia). During the two-day conference held amidst the lush Northern-Macedonian landscape, representatives of the partner organisations presented the progress of their respective work packages and discussed the steps ahead.

In the coming weeks, the project will deliver its first results: a report on the limits of the linear fossil economies, a database of suitable circular bioeconomy solutions, a report on status of development of EU regional circular bio economies and a literature review comparing impact assessment methodologies for linear fossil and circular bio-based economies.

In the context of the project, ACR + will produce guidelines and recommendations for policymakers on governance and financing means to ease the transition from fossil-based to circular bio-based systems. As part of BIOTRANSFORM, ACR+ will also prepare a policy brief outlining the barriers and opportunities for this transition.
