The third Mutual Learning event within the URBAN-WASTE project framework is taking place on 01 June 2017 in Copenhagen. It will be dedicated to waste management planning with a special focus on tourism and tourism activities.

The event will explore how to reach a waste management plan suitable for touristic cities. which takes into consideration many specificities these cities have, including high seasonal variation of resident population, thus amount of generated waste, insufficient infrastructure for collecting and treating these amounts and differences in behaviours and habits between the local and visiting population when it comes to waste generation. The Communities of Practices, an essential part of the project which mobilises local stakeholders along the tourism and waste value chain, will enrich the event with their role in waste management planning and will showcase examples, describing how properly to include local stakeholders in achieving as good waste management performances as possible.

The Mutual Learning event works as an open workshop for external cities and regions interested in the project and ACR+ would like to invite you to it. ACR+ members (in particular cities and regions with a large number of tourists) eager to speak and present their waste management plans and their planning procedures, approaches, stakeholders inclusion principles during the planning period, at this event are invited to get in touch with Erneszt Kovacs (This email address is being protected from spambots. This event is free of charge and open to all. Find out more about the event and the programme here.
