ACR+ tackled e-waste during the European Week for Waste Reduction

Since 2017, ACR+ has been coordinating the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), and it has become a tradition for the organisation to participate by carrying out its own internal action. This year’s edition focused on WEEE, and the ACR+ team joined the movement with a dedicated initiative to collect small electronic and electrical items long forgotten in cupboards and drawers. Between 24 and 28 November, staff brought their unused e-waste to the office, resulting in a varied collection of abandoned devices: from old headphones and obsolete laptops to malfunctioning screens, keyboards, mice, and countless mismatched cables.

With the week now concluded, ACR+ will document all the recovered items and contact CF2D, an economic and social enterprise that works to valorise WEEE, reduce the environmental impact of IT, and promote digital inclusion. This small but meaningful action serves as a reminder of the hidden resources sitting idle in our homes and workplaces, and the importance of giving them a second life.

The EWWR celebrated its 17th edition from 22 to 30 November 2025. More than 13,100 actions were carried out across 33 countries, focusing on waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and clean-ups. Stay tuned to discover the new thematic focus for the 2026 edition!
