A six-month waste collection test implemented in two neighbourhoods of ACR+ member Maastricht has ended in late November 2018.

Residents of the neighbourhoods developed and chose changes for the household waste collection system, after which they tested the new waste collection system for a period of six months.

The aim was to test whether the modified waste collection system was more user-friendly and whether it led to the collection of more reusable waste.

The results of the test were positive but additional adjustments to meet the interim objective were made and included in a proposal submitted to public opinion. If the council accepts the proposal, the system should be implemented between 2019 and 2020.
