In an effort to encourage local students to become involved in sustainability efforts, Dutch ACR+ member Cleantech Region launched two competitions targeted at them on 27 February 2019.

The organisation, which is a partnership between seven municipalities, will stage a Cleantech Talent Award and a Cleantech Battle for students.

Secondary school students from the eastern part of the Netherlands can register for the Cleantech Talent Award 2019 by submitting a paper or a project report on the topics of sustainable technology. The ten best candidates will pitch their idea during the final stage of the Cleantech Talent Award on Wednesday, 29 May 2019.

Similarly, the Cleantech Battle is meant to award students who have contributed to solving a sustainability issue in the field of clean technology. The candidates can be of any age and need to submit a report about the solution to which they have contributed. A final face-off among the ten best submissions will take place on 6 June 2019 at the Cleantech Battle in the Broodfabriek in Zutphen.
