Published on 19 March 2019, a study from the University of Groningen, commissioned by the ACR+ member Provincie Fryslân, shows that Frisian companies that are already working on circularity use their network for this purpose. Companies that are not yet doing this are also not active in circular economy networks.

Participating entrepreneurs indicate that they need a network and that they see a role for the province. Provincie Fryslân puts those companies that have questions about circular economy in contact with the Circular Economy Association. The participating companies also indicated that they see a role for the province in raising consumer awareness.

The province has great ambitions when it comes to circular economy, as by 2025 Fryslân wants to be among the top three most circular regions in Europe. To realise such an ambition, a strong business community is needed.
