In 2017, ACR+ member Citeo launched a call for projects bringing together producers and recyclers to better recycle opaque PET packaging. An update on the 12 projects selected is now available, with solutions already implemented. In less than three years, major advances are visible in terms of eco-design with a significant reduction in opacifiers, and with the construction of a new dedicated sector. These two sectors will be gradually supplied thanks to the extension of sorting instructions, which will be generalised to the whole of France by 2023. Progress points will be made each year on the advancement of industrialization.
