ACR+ member Wallonia adopted at first reading an amendment to the Environmental Code providing in particular to double the amount of fines linked to waste. Thus, the littering of cigarette butts, cans or chewing-gum will now be punished with a fine of EUR200 euros, against EUR100 until now. Mouth masks and gloves will also be added to the list of waste covered in the Code.

The amount of the fines in the event of littering packaging (including plastic or glass bottles), a garbage bag, a used oil container, container and inert waste will increase from EUR150 to EUR300.
