Under the lead of the fresh dairy products sector, several companies using polystyrene packaging and ACR+ member CITEO announced the formation of the “Consortium PS25” dedicated to investigating the establishment of a polystyrene recycling scheme in France. The aim is to have by end of 2020 a clear vision on: the commitment of the various actors in the value chain; potentially operational technological solutions; eco-design criteria to integrate a recycling channel; the economic feasibility of the PS recycling sector by evaluating the possible impacts on the collection and sorting systems and by identifying investors and motivated partners in the sector.
