AMIU Genova 80pxACR+ member AMIU inaugurated the first “Surpluse” centre in Genoa, a new circular economy hub where citizens can bring objects to repair or donate, as well as buy second-hand. The hub is managed through a shared governance by AMIU, the city administration and a pool of district associations. More Surpluse centres are to be established in other areas of the city to promote a widespread reuse and repair network at the service of residents. This initiative is being developed in the framework of the HORIZON 2020 FORCE project, involving three other European cities – including ACR+ member Lisbon – in creating participatory value chain-based partnerships to develop circular economy solutions.
