WWF North Africa and ACR+ member CIHEAM-IAM Montpellier signed a partnership agreement to enhance the synergy of their interventions in the Kerkennah territory (Tunisia) aimed to better implement their strategies related to plastic waste management and the preservation of island wetlands.

The implemented actions will be of three different types: awareness-raising campaigns targeting local populations (collection of plastic waste dispersed on the islands, selective sorting operations, use of techniques and materials that are alternative to the use of plastic), advocacy actions through high-level regional and national meetings, and support provided to local communities to formulate solutions for sorting waste at source.
