The selective collection of organic matter in Navarre has increased by 181% in the last decade and places the region at the head of the Spanish state. In terms of selective collection as a whole, organic matter has become the leading fraction and, in terms of the selective collection of paper and cardboard and light packaging and glass, Navarre is also at the top of the list according to the 2020 waste results preview presented by the Regional Minister for Rural Development and the Environment of the ACR+ member Government of Navarra.

The preview presented refers to the results of domestic and commercial waste, whose generation volume in 2020 has meant a total of 283,000 tonnes, a very similar figure to that of 2019 and 3% less than in 2010, the reference date of the Waste Plan of Navarre 2017-2027.
