ACR+ member ARC took part in the third edition of the Ultra Clean Marathon, which clearly consolidates its two aspects: sporting competition and environmental conservation. This year, 60 kilometres were covered (between Terrassa and Barcelona) which were used to collect almost a tonne of waste between the 24 participating teams, the cleaning activity at Pi d'en Xandri (Sant Cugat) and the cleaning of the beaches, breakwaters and seabed of Barcelona.

The Councilor of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda took part in this clean-up, accompanied by the Director General of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, the Director of Territorial Services of Barcelona, and representatives of the institutions involved.

The refreshment points were also the points where the waste collected was weighed and sorted, and where the most curious images were seen: teams loading sofa cushions or wooden beams. The most common waste was packaging such as cans and plastic wrapping, and the novelty this year was the strong presence of masks.
