ACR+ members Area Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB) and Barcelona Municipality organised a technical conference to promote door-to-door selective waste collection. The event, with the collaboration of ACR+ member ARC and the Association of Catalan Municipalities for Door-to-Door Collection, analysed the current context and the role of cities across Europe in circular economy strategies.

The figures show that the municipalities that adopt this system achieve the highest rates of selective collection, in the order of 80-90%, which means that they more than meet the requirements of the European Union. Currently, 240 Catalan municipalities have implemented door-to-door collection and more than 130 municipalities plan to do so in the coming years.
