The city councils of Mataró (Barcelona) and Marratxí (Mallorca) in Spain have decided to go a step further in the prevention of municipal waste. Both cities have entrusted ACR+ member Rezero to define the measures to be adopted in the coming years. Mataró updates its previous Waste Prevention Plan. In the case of Marratxí, work is underway on the new local municipal waste prevention and management plan. In this way, both cities are planning to reach their minimum waste prevention targets. The aim is to achieve at least a 15% reduction in waste generation per capita by 2025 and a 20% reduction by 2030. In both cases, the diagnosis phase has already begun, which should serve to detect the main challenges and begin to define the main strategic lines.Source: https://rezero.cat (in Catalan)
