In 2019, ACR+ member OVAM launched the municipal benchmark tool in cooperation with Interafval and the Association of Flemish Cities and Municipalities. The tool shows the figures from 2015 to 2020 for 50 indicators. Based on these figures, Flemish municipalities and cities can compare their waste, materials and soil policy with that of other Flemish municipalities and make policy choices accordingly. The benchmark tool shows which policy indicators are linked to good performance. Examples are a PAYT system, enforcement or preventive measures such as support for home composting. The tool shows separate figures for the selective waste fractions, but also for household waste, bulky waste, sweeping waste and waste from street bins.
