After six years of work, ACR+ member Paris is unveiling the building "La maison des Canaux" (The Canal House), a historical heritage of the Canal de l'Ourcq, which has been completely renovated as part of the Ile-de-France sustainable building approach, a mechanism for developing sustainable projects. The City of Paris decided in 2016 to make this place the house of solidarity and innovative economies, a showcase for the circular economy, supported by the association Les Canaux. The construction site boasted a target of 100% reused or bio-geosourced materials, a recovery of building waste, a desire for integration through apprenticeship and an educational opening for the inhabitants. Moreover, Maison des Canaux had the objective of favouring the sobriety of materials, energy and water and aiming for zero recoverable waste buried.Source: www.paris.fr (in French)
