ACR+ member Zagreb implemented the EU-funded project "Intervention measure to reduce the disposal of municipal waste generated in the City of Zagreb". At the project's final conference, the head of the City's Office of Economics, Environmental Sustainability and Strategic Planning highlighted that the project improved the separate waste collection system and thus achieved a reduction in the disposal of mixed municipal waste, in accordance with the obligations prescribed by the Sustainable Waste Management Act and the objectives of the Waste Management Plan of the Republic of Croatia 2017 – 2022. The project also achieved an increase in the separate collection and recycling of municipal waste and a reduction in the organic waste disposed of in landfills.
