Launched in 2016, BeCircular is one of the key instruments of the Shifting Economy, the economic transition strategy of the Brussels Region. The programme is covered by ACR+ member Brussels Environment, along with Bruxelles Économie Emploi, Hub.brussels, Bruxelles Propreté and Innoviris. This call for projects, costing several million euros each year, is open to all companies in the Brussels Region that wish to embark on a more circular approach.
 
The 2022 edition accounted for more than 150 applications, out of which 36 were selected by the jury, for a total budget of over EUR 3.2 million. The call was divided in 4 categories, with the main one “3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” awarding 16 laureates! 7 projects were awarded for the “New business models for the circular economy” category, the “Sustainable Food” category accounts for 4 laureates and 5 laureates were awarded for the “Mobility category”.
