From 23 to 28 May 2016, the city of Genoa is hosting the “Genova Smart Week” a week of  conferences, European project meetings, expo and networking events that will be attended by national and international players to share their views about innovations for the development of a livable city.

Together with its member AMIU, ACR+ organised a session on circular economy entitled “The European cities, key players of the circular economy”, with the presentation of several best practices from ACR+ members, namely the cities of Brussels, Lisbon, Paris and Genoa.

During this session, the city of Genoa signed the call  "Cities for Circular Economy" launched by the city of Paris in September 2015.  When signing this call, cities are committing to continue their efforts to reduce the impact of their development models on the environment, climate and health; to enforce ambitious and concrete policies in favour of circular economy; to raise awareness among citizens and international community as well as strengthen their current cooperation and share experiences at international level. Signatories already include among others Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Lisbon, London, Milan and Rome.
