Zero Waste Scotland

ACR+ member Zero Waste Scotland is the coordinator of the Recycle Week 2016 running from 12 to 18 September 2016. The week aims to get everyone in Scotland recycling more by raising awareness of its benefits and promoting easy ways to do more.

Over the week the Waste Services team will be out and about in the area promoting the benefits of recycling and offering advice on the type of materials the Council collects for recycling. The theme for this year’s Recycle Week is food waste, with over 30% of the general waste bin continuing to be made up of food.

Iain Gulland, Chief Executive of Zero Waste Scotland said, “Recycle Week is all about mobilising action and getting as many people across Scotland to recycle more. Recent years have seen recycling becoming much more commonplace across the country, but we could all be doing a little bit more – whether it’s running an event in your workplace, or starting to recycle food waste at home, Recycle Week is a great time to commit to picking up a new habit and helping Scotland move towards our ambitious targets.

You can follow activity of the week on the Facebook page Recycle for Scotland and on Twitter #RecycleWeekScot.
